About me
Everything I enjoy and all the paths I’ve chosen come back to storytelling, and to bringing people together. My background is in art and writing, with a sideline in putting on DIY gigs and many years working in pubs, front of house roles in the arts and in organising events.
Over the years, this combination of skills meant a few people had suggested I should become a celebrant but it wasn’t until a fellow artist told me about funeral celebrant training she’d done with the humanist charity A Quiet Revolution that I saw a way to do it that felt right to me. AQR’s pay-it-forward model and belief that everyone should have ceremony and ritual in their lives chimed with my own beliefs, and I have since completed both wedding and funeral training with the charity.
I live in Leith and am happy to travel anywhere in Edinburgh or the surrounding area, to wherever is right for your ceremony.
I am a writer; picking the right words - and the labour of finding them - is at the heart of what I do and I will never use AI in the writing of a ceremony script.
